What we're looking for:

We seek a dynamic Chief Estimator who can lead our estimation team and drive project success, particularly in Heavy Highway construction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project estimation and experience managing take-offs, procurement, and bid evaluations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all estimates, including bid management and execution.
  • Preparing take-offs from construction documents and understanding project scope to bid accurately using state and federal specifications.
  • Obtaining quotes from subcontractors and vendors for materials and labor.
  • Developing estimates covering material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs throughout a project's lifecycle.
  • Maintaining resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and regulations.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and reviewing bidding strategies.
  • Communicating contract plans and terms to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with project management to oversee financial aspects of projects.

    • Desired Skills:

    • Experience with HCSS, AutoCAD, P6, and estimating/scheduling software.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
    • Knowledge of civil construction phases.
    • Strong relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Field experience and strong contract and plan reading skills.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, plus at least 10 years of estimation experience.
