Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary: The Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

• Perform general cost accounting and related duties in the accounting department.
• Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address bank inquiries.
• Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
• Verify invoice payments related to accounts payable and ensure correct account charges.
• Assist outside auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
• File required tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Coordinate with the software vendor to maintain and update accounting software as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Three to five years of accounting experience.
