This Position reports to: Sales Manager, East Region

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective sales strategy and lead the assigned area marketing and sales activities - products and services - within the defined industry segment directly. You will help develop the Chemical market for ABB Instrumentation, working with global teams on value messaging and use the voice of customer to align our go to market. Build relationships with key external influencers/key customers. Drive and enhance cross-division and cross-region business-led collaboration for the specific market. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.

The work model for the role is remote. (#LI-remote)

This role is contributing to the Process Automation, Measurement & Analytics Division.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Anticipating and identifying the shortfalls in performance and taking appropriate remedial actions, proactively.
  • Identifying and evaluating new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determining plans for implementation, and allocating required resources.
  • Planning and executing customer surveys and acting on the survey results to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participating in the negotiation of key contracts.

Qualifications for the role
  • Associates degree required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience in direct to end customer sales or service is required.
  • 8 years of experience in a combination of sales, related experience or education preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • A willingness to be on the road visiting customers up to 60% of the time.
  • Candidates must already have prior work authorization to permit them to work for ABB in the US.
