FutureFuel Chemical Company, in Batesville, Arkansas, is looking for a new member for our Direct Materials Procurement Team. The ideal candidate should have related experience within the chemical industry. Knowledge of extrinsic factors, including macroeconomic and chemical the industry as relates to commodities purchased is needed. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This team member will have responsibility for sourcing raw materials for our specialty chemical manufacturing business and assisting with developing new opportunities in current performance chemical markets.

Our Purchasing Specialists are expected to understand our chemistries and the capabilities of our manufacturing plant. They work with our development chemists and engineers to provide estimates for new product opportunities. Our business is different. We market exceptional manufacturing capabilities for toll manufacturing and specialty chemical development.

FutureFuel specializes in chlorinations, brominations, esterifications, acylations, alkylations, sulfonations, and reactive distillations. We make great things happen for our customers by responsibly and successfully producing difficult chemistries.

Responsibilities:

  • Controls annual chemical raw material purchasing of over $50M
  • Uses strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to obtain quotations, prices and delivery times required to meet company objectives
  • Uses self-management principles and knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (EFP) system to prepare, review, and track purchase orders for multiple commodities through the purchasing process.
  • Applies sound process economic analysis principles to determine value
  • Inputs all changes into the Company ERP system including purchase orders, price changes, and system updates.
  • Uses excellent time management skills to apply appropriate attention to detail and to handle multiple issues and concerns simultaneously and regularly communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Maintains awareness and ties to corporate quality, technology and engineering resources to help implement projects
  • Uses Microsoft Office tools to evaluate vendor quotes, prepare reports and analysis of purchasing options.
  • Prepares all purchasing related documentation.
  • Communicates with employees in any role group, as well as outside suppliers and customers
