Chassis Integration Engineer - Riggs Industries : Job Details

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is seeking a Chassis Integration Engineer who is responsible for supporting production by creating drawings for chassis modifications and chassis equipment, specifying and designing hydraulic and electrical circuits, making hydraulic and electrical equipment selections, and writing installation work instructions. The individuals in this role communicate well, work in a team environment, and manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Experience with dump body and trailer installation and operation is highly recommended. May travel up to 10% of the time for field service and training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other job-related duties may be assigned in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Follow chassis OEM body builder guides to integrate the chassis and the body, following customer requirements and specifications.
• Ensures compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standards.
• Design modifications to the chassis for integration.
• Creates engineering and fabrication drawings with AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Reviews customer specifications and sales configurations for hydraulic and electrical requirements and equipment selections.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to the modification and upfit of chassis.
• Continuous improvement of standard equipment and manufacturing methods.
• Write upfit and installation instructions.
• Maintain upfit standards and bills of materials.
• Observes and follows all safety rules, always including the use of PPE.
• Observes and follows all the provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university and two years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience, such as a two-year technical degree and experience in chassis modification and integration.
