Provides spiritual care to patients, families, and staff within assigned settings, in conjunction with CPE students and spiritual care volunteers. Incumbents are typically assigned to specific service lines or functions, but may be temporarily assigned or reassigned at managements discretion. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Delivers direct spiritual care appropriate to recipients spirituality, culture, religious preference and health status. Works closely and effectively with care managers, interdisciplinary care teams, social workers, nursing and medical staff to provide spiritual care insights. Prepares timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in accordance with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) standards and procedures. Provides direct spiritual consultation and spiritual and emotional support for staff experiencing work-related or personal stress, including being available for private conversations while respecting work schedules and locating private space for counseling.
