Job Description :

Pride Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technologist to support our client's medical facility in Scranton, PA. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

  • Location: Scranton, PA
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 5*8 Day shift
  • Pay -$30 To $33/hr on W2

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.

Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, transport, and sort used and contaminated instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manually clean instruments and operate decontamination equipment to remove waste and contaminants.
  • Prepare and pack decontaminated instruments and supplies for sterilization using correct techniques and protocols.
  • Monitor and operate various sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves) and document sterilization cycles.
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and proper functionality before sterilization.
  • Assemble and wrap instrument trays and surgical packs for various departments and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver sterile instruments and medical carts to surgical suites, examination rooms, and procedure areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, inventory, and supply usage.
  • Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, check expiration dates, and reorder materials as needed.
  • Identify and report any issues or malfunctions with sterilization or decontamination equipment.
  • Follow established infection control and safety procedures at all times.

QualificationsEducation:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – Required

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience in sterile processing or central sterile supply – Required

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) through one of the following:
  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
