Job SummaryCertified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Danville VA Health Care SystemLocation: VA Illiana Health Care System, 1900 E. Main Street, Danville, IL, 61832 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts) Contract Type: Temporary, Contract-Based About the Position Aptive Resources is seeking skilled and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to provide exceptional care at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois. The ideal candidates will bring professionalism, clinical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to support Veterans' health care needs. CRNAs in this role will provide anesthesia and perioperative care including general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, Bier blocks, post-operative pain management, and leading resuscitative efforts as needed. No epidurals, spinals, or other nerve block techniques are required. Work Hours
  • Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
OR
  • Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Primary ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesPre-Anesthetic Evaluation:
  • Conduct health histories and physical exams.
  • Order and review diagnostic studies.
  • Administer pre-anesthetic medications and obtain informed consent.
  • Document evaluations and informed consent in electronic health records.
Preoperative and Intraoperative Care:
  • Prepare and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and blood products.
  • Perform airway management and insert peripheral venous catheters.
  • Conduct Bier blocks and provide non-invasive monitoring using current standards.
  • Manage patient emergence from anesthesia, ensuring stability.
Postoperative Care:
  • Conduct post-anesthesia evaluations and deliver recovery room reports.
  • Administer medications, respiratory support, and cardiovascular stabilization as needed.
  • Participate in mortality and morbidity committee reviews as applicable.
Professional Practice:
  • Conduct and participate in peer reviews to maintain privileges.
Minimum QualificationsQualifications
  • Licensure: Full and unrestricted license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Education: Graduate of a nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • Certification: Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' CRNA experience within the last 10 years.
  • Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Familiarity with VA electronic systems (VISTA and CPRS) is preferred.
