** JOB DURATION: Duration: 5 months+ (Possibilities for converting to permanent)

** WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Initial: Monday–Friday (hours subject to business needs)
  • After 4 weeks: May transition to Sunday–Thursday schedule
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Monday–Thursday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • All schedules and start times are subject to change based on operational needs.

Pay rate: $26.00/hr. W2

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, the Central Fill Pharmacy Technician accurately and efficiently fills prescription requests in a high-volume automated refill environment. This role prepares, packages, and distributes medications, maintains workflow to meet daily production goals, and upholds quality, safety, and privacy standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prescription Filling – Manually fill prescription vials with tablets/capsules, ensuring correct medication, dosage, and quantity. Perform basic math calculations for counts.
  • Automated Dispensing– Replenish automated dispensing cells, scan product barcodes, record lot/expiration data, and perform quality checks.
  • Inventory Management– Conduct weekly cycle counts, audit inventory, and assist in root cause analysis for discrepancies.
  • Cold Chain & Specialty Handling– Prepare prescriptions requiring special temperature-controlled or handling procedures.
  • Packing & Shipping – Package orders for shipment, adhering to HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
  • Problem Resolution– Identify, address, and escalate operational issues to management.
  • Equipment Maintenance – Clean, maintain, and calibrate dispensing equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • California Pharmacy Technician License (required)
  • PTCB National Certification (preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in a pharmacy, retail, or customer service setting (excluding externships or tech programs)
  • Specialized Skills:
  • Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with Mini Parata, Kalish, and Baker cassettes (preferred)
