Certified MOHS Technician (Histotechnician) - Dermatology - Mount Sinai Health System : Job Details

The Certified MOHS Technician assists in the process of complex tissue removal and microscopic examination of skin cancer cells. Also, the MOHS Technician performs extensive administrative duties involving medical record keeping, developing laboratory protocols and following federal and state guidelines. They will assist the surgeon in all stages of surgery. Responsibilities The Senior MOHS Technician is responsible for providing complex skilled surgical and medical support to the MOHS surgeon with the patients' care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality as primary concerns. Conducts daily evaluation of tissue slide preparation to ensure quality compliance. Prepares for and assists in shaving and punching biopsies and excisions, suture removal and wound care. Prepares for and assists in cosmetic procedures such as the administration of Botox, various fillers, laser treatments and a variety of peels.
