Position Summary: Prepares patients to see physicians, facilitates lab tests and paperwork as needed, and assists clinical services supervisor with clinical and administrative duties as directed. EOE

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including but not limited to : greeting, checking schedules, and organizing patient flow
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure room and assist with walking transfers, dressing wounds, collecting specimens, preparing for exams
  • Collecting and updating patient history and medical records
  • Recording vitals, chief complaint, medications and allergies
  • Assisting provider during exams and with: cast/splint application or removal , suture or staple removal, DME application, culture swabs, etc
  • Send out for visiting nurse, imaging and lab services and other diagnostic services that may be required
  • Handling correspondence, billing and other documentation
  • Entering documentation in chart note and interpreting as required
  • Filtering through messages and responding to patients who call in
  • Providing, instructing and explaining pertinent information to patients and/or family members such as: medications, follow-ups , scheduling appointments, referrals etc.
  • Replenishing supplies and communicating with supplies coordinator when stock is low, cleaning exam rooms and sending instruments to be sterilized
  • Perform other applicable duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • MA diploma and/or certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of one year recent experience and a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred
  • Experience working in orthopedics is a plus

Additional Details:

  • $2k Sign-on Bonus offered to qualified candidates!
  • MA diploma and/or certification required
  • 2-3 years Medical Assistant Experience, preferred
  • EMR Knowledge/Experience, preferred
  • Ability to work within operating hours of: Monday - Friday (8am-8pm), 1-2 late shifts per week, variable shifts (Morning, Midday, Evening), 1-2 Weekend Days a month (9am-5pm)
