Wellstar Health System is excited to announce opportunities to join our newly established West Diagnostic Float Pool, supporting a variety of imaging services across our facilities.

We are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals in the following area: Certified CT Tech

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Imaging Excellence

  • Perform CT scans in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
  • Obtain complete patient histories and assess for contraindications
  • Administer contrast media safely and according to guidelines
  • Confirm proper patient identification and use anatomical markers appropriately
  • Evaluate image quality, release patients, and recognize conditions requiring physician intervention
  • Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and comfort throughout each procedure
  • Follow sterile techniques and maintain venipuncture competency
  • Prioritize tasks to meet workflow demands and scheduled procedures
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and strong communication with patients and families

Equipment Operation

  • Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely and effectively
  • Adjust technique to minimize radiation dose while ensuring optimal image quality
  • Maintain, clean, and disinfect equipment per infection control policies
  • Report equipment issues promptly and ensure proper calibration before use.

Education & Communication

  • Use AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, Thank) to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families
  • Address concerns and escalate unresolved issues before procedures begin
  • Train and support new team members as needed
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and timely documentation
  • Stay informed through regular communication and complete required trainings

Quality Control

  • Consistently produce high-quality images per radiologist feedback and audit standards
  • Upload completed exams to PACS, manage RIS entries, and print CDs/logs when necessary
  • Perform and document all required quality control checks and compliance procedures

Operations & Workflow

  • Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and safe transfers
  • Restock supplies and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Apply shielding and immobilization devices as needed
  • Support teammates across modalities and clerical tasks as time allows
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Maintain productivity levels in line with departmental standards
  • Comply with Joint Commission and regulatory guidelines

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.

Certifications:

  • ARRT-R (Radiography) – required

  • ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) – required

  • BLS – from American Heart Association – required

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Radiology in a hospital setting required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CT in a hospital setting required.

  • Competence in CT techniques, patient positioning, and quality control testing

  • Willingness to comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
