This position is for a Certified Athletic Trainer with excellent customer service orientation and strong critical thinking skills. The Per Diem Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for aiding in representing the Newport Orthopedic Institute Human Performance and Sports Medicine Program (HPSM) including, but not limited to: working in a variety of potential athletic training related settings and event coverage. The certified athletic trainer helps the program by using his/her training skills and knowledge to work hands on with various athletic organizations within contracts as designated by the HPSM manager.

Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, running, and stretching. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and may need to lift up to 60 pounds or as needed.

Typical Working Conditions
This is a fast-paced orthopedic medical practice that offers outreach athletic training services. Hours of this position vary from nights, early mornings, and weekends. The PER DIEM certified athletic trainer must be able to adjust and adapt to changing conditions.
