Are you passionate about keeping athletes at the top of their game while working in a highly collaborative sports-medicine environment? Join an award-winning regional healthcare organization's performance and rehab division and become the go-to expert for injury prevention, evaluation, and return-to-play planning across multiple settings - clinic, sideline, and community outreach. You will partner with physicians, coaches, and therapists to deliver cutting-edge care that helps student-athletes and active adults stay healthy and perform at their peak.

This Role Offers:

  • Competitive hourly rate plus shift differentials for event coverage.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan with employer match, and generous PTO.
  • Continuing-education reimbursement and paid professional association dues.
  • Access to state-of-the-art rehab and performance equipment.
  • Tight-knit team culture that values work-life balance and career development.

Focus:

  • Conduct on-field and in-clinic assessments of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary conditions, then design evidence-based treatment plans with clear functional goals.
  • Provide immediate emergency response, taping, bracing, and therapeutic interventions at games, practices, and special events.
  • Guide athletes through injury-specific rehab programs, continually re-evaluating progress and modifying care to ensure safe, timely return to activity.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, and billing details accurately and on schedule in accordance with regulatory and departmental standards.
  • Educate athletes, families, and coaching staff on injury prevention, nutrition, and performance optimization strategies; tailor communication to age and culture.
  • Mentor athletic-training students and support staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Collaborate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals or follow-up services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support performance-improvement initiatives that elevate patient outcomes, satisfaction, and departmental efficiency.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends aligned with sport seasons.

Skill Set:

  • Current Illinois Athletic Trainer License (or eligibility/pending status).
  • Active CPR certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field; BOC “ATC” credential maintained via continuing education.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and meet physical demands of sideline coverage.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience to thrive in fast-paced, occasionally high-stress situations.

Preferred Extras:

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related discipline.
  • Experience providing coverage for high-school or collegiate athletics.
  • Familiarity with performance-tracking technology and tele-rehab solutions.
