Located in St. Joseph, Michigan, LECO continues to be a family-owned company that understands the value of shared interests, long-term stability, loyalty, and trust.Schedule: 6:00 - 2:30 M-F overtime as requiredPosition Summary: A Ceramics Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that ceramic products meet defined quality standards before they are shipped to customers. This position may also stop production, provide communication, and initiate corrective action for any condition that would contribute to poor quality.Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties as required by Quality Management.
  • Be a self-starter.
  • Coordinate calibration of Leco Inspection Equipment and personal owned gages.
  • Incoming, In-process and end-of-line inspection in areas(s) of assigned responsibility including but not limited to, T-Cast, Ceramics, Fiber, Slip cast..
  • Measure parts and assemblies per defined requirements using appropriate gaging and test fixtures
  • Reject NC parts to containment hold area
  • Provide communication related to quality concerns to your management representative.
  • Pull and contain affected nonconforming parts from in process locations and stock; organize and conduct sorting
  • Process material transactionally in Oracle (reject / scrap / deviation.) Etc.....
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean flow, VA/VE, 8D problem solving, etc.)
  • Stop production, provide communication, and initiate corrective action for any condition that would contribute to poor quality.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, relating to material flow, quality, test and inspection protocols, or other aspects of Leco production and quality practices that could improve cost, delivery or quality.
  • Participate in structured problem-solving teams.
