05109 Central Sterile Supply Tech. Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Reports to: Director of Surgery Services. FLSA: Non-exempt. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. License: N/ A - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire. Required Skills. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Essential Functions. Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements. Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety. Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
