Central Scheduler - Lawrence General Hospital : Job Details

As the Central Scheduler, you will be under the direction of the Coordinator and/or Manager of Patient Access. The Patient Access Services Scheduler performs a variety of complex duties for the registration and scheduling of patients for medical procedures, tests and associated ancillary services. Duties and Responsibilities: Schedules patients for services, tests and procedures according to the established guidelines and criteria. Accurately obtains and enters appointment, demographic and insurance information into the electronic EMR during the scheduling process. Ability to toggle between multiple screens and utilize multiple modules simultaneously. Obtains and scans physician orders per protocol. Reviews procedure/test to ensure it meets medical necessity guidelines, alerts ordering physician s offices as needed and generates a Medicare ABN as appropriate.
