Job DetailsJob Location Cellular Therapy Laboratory - Bedford, TX Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage Valid DL required Job Shift Days Job Category Health Care DescriptionPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY The Cellular Therapy Technologist 1 (CTT1) participates in activities in the Cellular Therapy Laboratory. These activities include, but may not be limited to, cellular therapy (CT) processing, performing and troubleshooting quality control of reagents and equipment, participating in educational instruction of students and new employees, familiarity and full compliance with all CT and general laboratory regulations, and participating in design and implementation of new methodology for processing CT products. By accomplishing these activities, the CTT1 ensures daily operations within the department meet and follow all established guidelines and provide excellence in service and patient care. Ability to work a flexible schedule, long and/or odd hours with little notice. Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours. QualificationsEDUCATION
- MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or equivalent, or eligible with certification obtained within 90 days of hire
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field in laboratory science
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one year of experience as an MT/MLS
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Good written and verbal communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and other healthcare personnel
- Basic blood bank knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Excellent attention to detail and math skills
- Very strong customer service practices along with pleasant, courteous, flexible, professional personality and appearance
- Computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and make sound reasonable decisions based on the level of experience and training
