Overview

Responsible for identifying, marketing, pursuing, winning, and performing SPE services on CEI projects with State, County, and Municipal clients. Provides construction contract administration and may act as the lead Engineer for the company on one or more construction projects. Supervise other employees and oversee hiring CEI team personnel and fostering relationships with other CEI consultants.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coordinate all phases of field representation on large complex projects, exercising initiative and independent judgment
  • Manage highly complex construction engineering administration and inspection programs, ensuring compliance with FDOT standards
  • Support new project pursuits, win work, and oversee construction management teams
  • Source, train, and develop staff
  • Plan and organize work of team members
  • Develop/review policies and procedures for complex construction projects
  • Maintain construction project records per FDOT procedures
  • Organize project meetings and prepare reports
  • Coordinate with subconsultants
  • Monitor contractor schedules and progress
  • Interpret plans and specifications, discuss deviations, and ensure compliance
  • Review drawings, specifications, and installation for constructability
  • Review contractor daily operations records
  • Update clients on project issues and provide recommendations
  • Interact proactively with project managers, contractors, and inspection staff
  • Utilize CRM to report and track business opportunities
  • Manage proposals and participate in marketing initiatives
  • Ensure timely completion of timesheets and expense reports
  • Pursue personal career development opportunities

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and PE license in Florida or ability to obtain within six months
  • Six (6) years of engineering experience, including two in major road or bridge construction (or five for complex bridges)
  • For non-degreed personnel, PE license and ten (10) years of engineering experience
  • Master's Degree may substitute for one year of experience
  • Must have or obtain within 6 months: CTQP Quality Control Manager, FDOT Advanced MOT, Critical Structures Construction Issues
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's in Civil Engineering
  • Florida PE license
