Job DescriptionSummary of Performance Expectations:Performs a variety of organizational functions including administrative, communication and cardiac monitoring skills in support of the Critical Care Center. Required to work and function competently and independently in CCU Tech, NA, or Unit Secretary role in order to meet annual evaluation performance expectations.Education And Credentials Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer application skills.
- BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date.
- Either NA1 or NA2 (if NA2 must maintain valid NA1 listing) Nurse Aide I: Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services. Nurse Aide II: Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services and the NC Board of Nursing.
- Interest and aptitude for reading and interpreting cardiac monitor images and EKG strips. Employees are expected to attend educational classes in both EKG interpretation and nursing information systems as a condition of employment. Satisfactory testing upon completion of classes is expected for continued employment. Technicians are required to maintain a NAI or NAI/NAII listing. Technicians are also required to attain and maintain BCLS certification.
Preferred:Knowledge of medical terminology and cardiac monitoring.Work Experience Required:No previous experience required.
