Receive and process food and food-related orders from customers through ordering system. Perform cooking duties. Follow food-handling and health and safety regulations and best practices. These responsibilities may differ among location, depending on business necessities, client requirements, and applicable industry standards. RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Interact with customers in Cafe; Take orders from customers.
- Perform excellent customer service when interacting and serving customers including but not limited to positive greetings, patience, active listening, and excellent verbal communication skills; Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
- Prepare food and serve catering patrons at counters or tables.
- Retrieve catering orders and roll order outside to vehicle.
- Arrange attractive food and food-related displays.
- Serve food items plated or buffet-style to customers.
- Operate ordering system such as a cash register, terminal, or software; Process customer cash and non-cash payments. Assist in locating, reconciling, and verifying accuracy of transactions and operate equipment with peripheral electronic data processing when needed.
- Prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area).
- Breakdown, clean, and/or and sanitize kitchen, cafeteria, workstations, counters, tables, steam tables, chairs, and other areas or equipment.
- Vacuum and return areas to proper appearance.
- Assist with setting up stations such as breads, condiments, and utensils; Brew coffee and tea; Assist customers with opening containers, cutting food, etc.
- Uniforms must be worn in accordance with dress code requirements.
- Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.
- Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
- Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
- This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent or work-related experience preferred. Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.). Ability to read information on papers and computer screens. Knowledge of proper and safe food preparation and food handling regulations and best practices. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Oklahoma food handler's permit preferred upon hire. For those positions requiring travel, a current, valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
