Salary Range $62,400 - $80,200*Job Description:The E-commerce Category Specialist is responsible for driving the online performance and growth of assigned product categories. This role involves developing and executing category strategies, optimizing the online customer experience, managing product presentation and information, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets and enhance profitability within the e-commerce channel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, market trends, and consumer behavior, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.Role Description
- Partner with manager to implement comprehensive e-commerce category strategies aligned with overall business objectives and online sales targets
- Collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to influence product assortment and productivity
- Ensures merchandising is aligned with best practices and executed in a timely manner to ensure an intuitive and engaging shopping experience. (ex. navigation, product array, search results, features items, linking strategy, etc). Partners with Digital Experience teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize site experience
- Maintain effective product categorization, filtering, and navigation to enhance user experience. Partner with ISU to implement any changes
- Ensure product information accuracy and consistency across all online touchpoints.
- Track, analyze, and report on key category and brand performance metrics (e.g., sales, conversion rates, average order value, traffic, bounce rates).
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies as needed.
- Work closely with buying/merchandising teams to align online and offline strategies and ensure optimal product availability.
- Collaborate with the digital experience teams to implement website enhancements and resolve technical issues.
- Fields ad hoc requests, present findings and proactively deliver recommendations that inform strategy. Synthesizes large data sets into digestible takeaways that drive action.
Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, E-commerce, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, functionalities, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and product information management (PIM) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
