Job Description :

Under minimal to intermediate direction, resolves claims by determining coverage, investigating, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements.

Must have NPN and Adjuster home state or designated home state License.

This is not a 1099 opportunity. All Independent Adjusters employed by Crawford & Co. will do so as a W2 employee.

This role is to join the Catastrophe Roster, with temp/seasonal deployments, not full-time staff.

Work opportunities (deployments) may be offered throughout the US, working in-office, field, or remotely.

New to the Industry and Seasoned Insurance Adjusters will be considered, with additional in-house training available if needed.

No permanent relocation required.

  • Examines claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage.
  • Investigates claims by interviewing claimants and inspecting physical damage.
  • Sets loss reserves if applicable.
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information required by clients, local, state, and federal agencies, and Crawford.
  • Settles claims by determining insurance carrier's liability, following client instructions, obtaining demands, making offers, issuing settlement checks, filing with regulatory agencies, disposing of salvage, and pursuing subrogation when appropriate.
  • Controls claims costs.
  • Maintains expected caseload.
  • Upholds company reputation and integrity by complying with regulations, service standards, and client requirements.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Adheres to all performance metrics.

Requirements include:

  • Relevant insurance or claims adjusting experience or the drive to learn.
  • Valid NPN.
  • Valid adjuster license in your state of residence (if required).
  • Ability to travel on short notice and stay on location for indefinite periods.
  • Travel and living expenses are self-funded during deployments.
  • Complete a virtual interview if selected.
  • Own necessary tools (ladder, laptop, cell phone, etc.).
  • Pass pre-employment drug, background, and motor vehicle checks.
  • Dependable vehicle with proof of insurance ($100,000/$300,000 liability limits).
  • Ability to climb and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Xactimate/Xactware or Mitchell (preferred).
  • Good communication, organization, technical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work long hours and away from home during large catastrophe events.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • High school diploma.
