Position Summary: The part-time Academic Advisor will provide academic advisement to students who are admitted on a provisional basis, Advanced Standing students, and students in other categories as needed. The part-time Academic Advisor will work with the Associate Dean, the Academic Advising team, the Onboarding team, and others at the School and University, such as the Registrar's Office staff, to assist students with their plans of study, barriers to registration, processing Leave of Absence forms, and withdrawals from courses/the School. They will also oversee referrals to student support, faculty, or other University services to resolve student issues.
Position ResponsibilitiesBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. MSW strongly preferred At least 3-5 years of administrative experience required An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
Skills & CompetenciesExceptional people skills Capacity to generate professional and courteous correspondence in a timely fashion Must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint May use other Microsoft programs as assigned The ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new software and technology is essential Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible Must have the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient; a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative, and attention to detail Must possess strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Salary Range$35.00 - $38.00 per hour
