Job Description :
Position Overview: The Cashier plays a vital role in the daily operations of the restaurant, supporting both front-of-house staff and management teams. This position provides essential support in employee relations, basic accounting, guest services, and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include assisting with financial checkouts, managing paperwork, answering phone calls, and handling guest inquiries. Key Responsibilities:General Restaurant Support - 25%
  • Maintain office supply inventory and order items as needed. (Paper, Ink, Pens, etc.)
  • Manage the lost and found system, including secure storage and proper documentation of items such as credit cards.
  • Adjust employee hours in the POS system as directed by management.
  • Assist with internal communications using Hot Schedules, or with Mgmt. team directly.
  • Oversee inventory, distribution, and collection of Shaka Bucks, bank bags, radios, and gift cards.
Employee Support - 30%
  • Distribute paychecks and tip-outs.
  • Print employee rosters to ensure accurate clock-ins, job codes, and training assignments.
  • Enter tips and tip-sharing data into the Aloha platform.
  • Verify daily that employees clocked out at EOD or shift, proper job code was utilized, and tips were declared.
  • Assist if needed with completion and timely submission of all new hire paperwork to Human Resources before the employee begins working.
  • Keep office paperwork and printouts stocked and organized, updated and readily available.
Financial Handling - 35%
  • Count the safe, distribute banks, radios, and parking passes, and track with sign-out sheets.
  • Arrange for change runs as needed.
  • Handle daily server and bartender checkouts, including recording tip-outs in Aloha promptly.
  • Make change when necessary, with large bills for servers and Mgmt. Test all large bills for legitimacy.
  • Verify tips collected daily, distribute to tipped employees via their assigned envelopes and sign off on paperwork.
Administrative Duties - 10%
  • Answer phone calls for reservations, large parties, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized office environment.
  • Support additional administrative functions & mgrs. as assigned / needed.

Qualifications - Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience; cashier, money handling, financials.
  • Familiarity with Restaurant365, Aloha, and other relevant platforms.
  • Proficient in Restaurant365, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and restaurant operational procedures.
  • Highly organized with strong interpersonal and time management skills.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed primarily in a restaurant office environment, with extended computer and phone use.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must pass a background check.
