RETAIL CASHIER - FULL TIME - WATERTOWN

Location: WATERTOWN, SDPay Range: $18–$22 per hour

Job Summary

Trav's Outfitter is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Retail Cashier to join our Rapid City team. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer-facing environment, values accuracy, and takes pride in providing a smooth and friendly checkout experience. You'll support the store's mission by ensuring transactions are processed with care and integrity, while delivering outstanding service aligned with our core values of compassion, excellence, and enriching lives.

Key ResponsibilitiesCash Handling & Transaction Accuracy

• Operate the POS system with speed and precision

• Handle all forms of payment: cash, credit, debit, gift cards, and returns

• Count cash drawers at open and close, ensuring accuracy and proper balancing

• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager promptly

• Follow all cash handling and loss prevention policies

Customer Experience – Guided by Our Values

• Greet each customer with warmth and professionalism

• Deliver a positive and efficient checkout experience

• Assist customers with returns, exchanges, and questions at the register

• Demonstrate care, patience, and helpfulness in every interaction

Store Presentation & Team Support

• Maintain a clean and well-organized checkout station

• Ensure receipt printers, bags, and supplies are stocked at all times

• Support merchandising, tagging, and light restocking when needed

• Collaborate with team members to uphold store appearance and flow

• Attend team meetings and training sessions

Qualifications

• Prior cashier, bank teller, or cash-handling experience preferred

• High attention to detail and comfort with math and POS systems

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Dependable, punctual, and eager to contribute to a positive team culture

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position (avg. 40 hrs/week)

• Consistent weekday off; includes evenings and alternating weekends
