Established in 1926, Family Service League is a social services agency transforming lives and communities through mental health, addiction, housing, and essential human services with more than 60 social service programs in over 20 locations.SCHEDULE Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM SUMMARYFamily Service League is seeking a full-time Case Manager Supervisor for a homeless shelter in Huntington. Meet with clients a minimum of two times per week.Maintain accurate daily census for the site.Complete SPA applications for eligible clients and work collaboratively with clients to find permanent housing options.Conduct daily client unit inspections and weekly shelter safety inspections. Work with clients in creating a budget to identify needs and obligations. Where applicable, incorporate upcoming shelter obligation.Maintain electronic database of social service organizations relevant to the needs of clients.Provide ongoing support and counseling for clients in reaching their goals.Provide assessment and crisis intervention to shelter clients.Foster inter-agency collaboration to assist in client long-term stability, and advocate for client needs.Work collaboratively with colleagues for treatment with service coordination team, both within the Agency and in the larger community.Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding client services in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and client files.Collect client housing logs weekly. Complete monthly reporting in a timely manner. Submit documentation to DSS Housing Liaison.Complete monthly billing allocations for the shelter and document in spreadsheet accordingly.Oversee bus token distribution and petty cash account.Attend scheduled Case Management team meetings, individual supervision, staff meetings and trainings, as required.Work in partnership with the Program Director and seek supervisory input as needed.Enforce rules, policies, and procedures of shelter, as well as maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Conduct regular house meetings to maintain stability in the shelter.Delegate advocate responsibilities throughout all shifts at the shelter.Maintain and update resource database of social service organizations relevant to the needs of target population.Set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients; observe client confidentiality and HIPAA protocols. Model professional behavior at all times.Screen potential new employees for hire and train newly hired advocates.Alternate on-call responsibilities with the Program Director on a biweekly basis.Obtain coverage when unable to work scheduled shift.Assist advocates working in the shelter to obtain coverage if they are unable to work a scheduled shift, as needed.Arrive timely for all scheduled shifts, including during inclement weather. All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, or the equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with homeless/at-risk population or related area preferred.Previous supervisory experience preferred.Knowledge of the Suffolk County Department of Social Services is preferred.Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, is required. Knowledge of HMIS strongly preferred.Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is required.Valid and clean NYS Driver's License required. Flexibility to work at different sites is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time, as well as moderate lifting.
