Position Objective To provide support, both technical and person centered, to assist in accessing, delivering and monitoring client services. This position is responsible for assisting with determining eligibility of clients, the completion of applications and forms, explaining department services, and obtaining and verifying information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assists the general public and clients with understanding, obtaining, and completing applications, forms, and other paperwork in order to obtain services. 2. Attend daily adult protection meetings to provide system lookups and collaborate with APS staff on client needs/next steps. 3. Provides routine instruction to clients about procedural questions regarding program requirements to ensure clients' understanding of, and compliance with, those requirements. 4. Interviews clients, family members, and community resources to coordinate and establish services and to verify factual information for eligibility of service. 5. Supports professional staff by maintaining records; updating databases; obtaining information, reports, and documents; preparing paperwork; making service arrangements; and similar tasks to maintain unit effectiveness and public service. 6. Assists with coordinating and scheduling client meetings and may transport clients to and from sites where services are delivered. 7. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner. 8. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- One year of post-secondary formal education and two years of progressively related experience providing service delivery to community members related to interpreter services, public assistance, community health, education, or human services OR four years of progressively related experience providing service delivery to community members related to interpreter services, public assistance, community health, education, or human services
- Valid Minnesota driver's license or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment

Work Environment and Physical Demands The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 100% of the time indoors. May require frequent travel to off-site locations and minimal attendance at evening meetings. Will have infrequent exposure to health hazards and accidents; requires a low level of physical effort. All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.
Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided Work is performed under the general supervision of the Human Services Supervisor.
Responsibility for Public Contact Frequent.
Hours of Work Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include hours outside of normal work hours on occasion. Potential for a hybrid work environment and flexible work hours.
