What You'll Do

As Sr. Manager, Carrier Management, you'll be the strategic and operational lead for our Jones Act water carrier partnerships (Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam) and international NVOCC relationships. You'll own everything from contract negotiations to performance monitoring and cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, and pricing.

• Lead all carrier relationships and contract negotiations (FAK, fixed-rate, named account).
• Track and enforce service levels, volume commitments, and carrier KPIs.
• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with ocean carriers.
• Source and manage drayage providers across key ports and inland hubs.
• Negotiate rates and monitor service-level agreements and compliance.
• Align drayage with ocean schedules and terminal requirements.

Operational Support

• Provide guidance to internal ops teams on routing, capacity, and carrier policies.
• Monitor KPIs such as on-time performance and roll rates; resolve service issues.
• Support sales and pricing teams on spot quotes, RFPs, and market insights.
• Provide expertise on port conditions, GRIs, and equipment availability.

Strategic Partnerships

• Build long-term relationships with ocean and water carriers.
• Explore innovation opportunities (sustainability, tech, premium services).

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years in carrier management, ocean freight, NVOCC, or Jones Act trade lanes
• Experience with 3PLs or freight forwarders
• Strong background in contract negotiation and commercial management
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS, trade lanes, and regulatory requirements
• Skilled in TMS, rate management systems, and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA a plus)
• This is a hybrid role based in either Fullerton, CA or Fife, WA
• Base salary: $105,000–$152,250 per year + bonus
• Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and location
