Job Purpose

Carrier Procurement Representatives: The driving force behind Sonwil's mission of high-value, sustainable logistics.

Our Carrier Procurement Reps are responsible for the crucial task of managing freight movement across the U.S. and Canada for a diverse range of companies, industries and modes. This role involves developing and growing our brokerage business by identifying and implementing efficient logistics solutions to keep our customers satisfied and their inventory arriving on time, every time.

Sonwil's Carrier Procurement Reps are expected to provide exceptional service to all customers. This includes maintaining a strong commitment to resolving concerns and making prompt, clear decisions to support our growing customer base. Overall, the efforts made by our Carrier Procurement Reps are essential in ensuring smooth logistics operations and meeting customer transportation needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage/grow relationships with current the Sonwil Logistics carrier base
  • Rapid “on the fly” rate negotiations with carriers
  • Target prospective new carriers through outbound “warm” calling to build book of business
  • Utilize investigative sales techniques to further develop carrier capacity
  • Manage full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL) shipments
  • Assign, dispatch, and track all shipments with carriers
  • Assist in support and execution of quoting opportunities for first time and existing customers
  • Proactively address problems and implement effective, timely solutions
  • Serve as the liaison between an individual/company that needs shipping services and an authorized motor carrier

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Must like to work in a fast paced and highly competitive buying market
  • Hungry for success and always looking for self-improvement
  • High level multi-tasking ability with strong organization skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Enthusiastic and high energy
  • People person, friendly, outgoing, and confidence is a must
  • Willingness to work in a team environment, but able to conduct themselves and their work independently, driven to achieve individual results without being micro-managed
