Carpenter Aide - The Chickasaw Nation : Job Details

We are currently looking for a Full Time Carpenter Aide to join our HIS Section Team B Unit 4 team located at the Housing Annex working .Summary:Complete carpentry and related work assigned to them in a timely and workmanlike manner in order to preserve the Division's housing units in good condition and to maintain a safe and healthful living environment for the Division's tenants and home buyers.Responsibilities:* Complete carpentry and related work assigned to them in a timely and workmanlike manner* Assists / helps perform major and minor carpentry work including the following: hang sheet rock; tape and bedding; trim work; install both primary and storm windows; framing; lay floor tile; install ceramic tile; Roofing: both patch and new; and cabinet work* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Ensures compliance* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Experience:Essential:* No prior experience requiredEducation:Essential:* Not requiredCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background checkWorking Conditions:Essential:* Mix of office/non-office settings* Outside, all weather conditions* Potential exposure to chemical strippers/sealers* May be required to deal with situations that are potentially dangerous* Potential exposure to dust and mold* Risk of electrical shock* Pass pre-employment drug test* Frequently work in confined spaces (e.g. crawl space, tank)* Operate hand tools* Operate mechanic tools* Operate power tools* Constantly work at heights* Constantly lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Subject to traveling and working at other locations or in other environments
