UnitedMasters has taken the bold step of building a music distribution service that, radically, puts artists first - disrupting the legacy music business by letting up-and-coming artists distribute their music directly to fans through streaming services while maintaining ownership of their master recording rights and up to 100% of royalties. Through the combination of UnitedMasters' music distribution platform and its deep ties to brands, UnitedMasters enables independent artists and change-makers to grow and earn unlike any other platform.

The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).

We are looking for an Artist & Brand Partnerships Director to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.

What You'll Do

You will drive the Artist & Brand Partnerships revenue, sourced from new and existing partners, to monetize the Partner Artist roster of UnitedMasters. This role is a key initiative of the company, providing artists opportunities to earn beyond streaming. The position will be hyper-focused on the top end of the artist collective, with responsibilities including pipeline generation, proactive sales strategy, and high close rate contributions. The ideal candidate will quickly learn UnitedMasters' positioning, operations, and how to attack revenue opportunities effectively, especially towards multi-product sales when appropriate.

You will :
  • Establish an understanding of the UnitedMasters Partner Artist roster, including participation in weekly music meetings and creating dialogues for brand packaging.
  • Achieve sales goals, metrics, and milestones.
  • Represent the UnitedMasters brand professionally, with strong cultural awareness and clarity in partnership pathways.
  • Engage more externally than internally, maintaining a robust meeting schedule.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline at various stages.
  • Track and report progress to Enterprise Sales & Music Leadership.
  • Solicit and follow-up with targets via multiple sales and marketing methods, including leveraging existing contacts, cold calling, virtual and in-person conferences, and presentations.
  • Provide internal feedback to support sales touchpoints and marketplace awareness.
  • Capture market needs and trends to advise leadership and internal teams for solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure sales strategies align with the music team's plans.
  • Create sales materials when resources are limited.
  • Support the Music team in recruiting new signings in Brand Partnerships.
  • Drive a hustle mindset to grow UnitedMasters' Brand Partnerships division.
  • Motivate and provide clear direction to the team, fostering an environment for excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years in business development, account management, or sales.
  • Confident client communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and pipeline management software (e.g., Hubspot, Monday).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Music industry experience.
  • Experience at a founder-led company.

Salary Hiring Range : $135,000 - $150,000

Our compensation includes salary, bonuses, stock options, 401(k) match, and other rewards. Salary decisions are based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The range is indicative and may vary based on location and individual profile.
