Caregiver at The Village Retirement Center - The Village Active Life Plan Community : Job Details

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED SALARY RANGE - 16.00 - 17.00 PER HOUR Basic Functions: Under the direction of the Director of Resident Services, is responsible for any and all personal care, housekeeping, or miscellaneous tasks necessary in assisting resident to maintain independent living. Work requires all duties within the scope of a nursing assistant. Work also requires good communication and current certification of CPR and First Aid. Duties and responsibilities:

• Knows and abides by all Village and Services For You policies and procedures
• Maintains an attitude of respect toward the resident and family members, and at all times supports the resident's dignity and rights. Is compassionate, patient and loving with all Residents
• Verbally communicates any change of condition to SFY team members (Director of Resident Services and/or SFY Coordinator)
• Maintains accurate log book entries during each shift with pertinent resident information, including, but not limited to:

• Changes in resident condition or other pertinent observations
• Observation of daily medication intake
• Other basic activities performed during the shift

• In case of emergency notifies the Nurse On Duty/Front Desk by pushing red alert, and/or calling the Front Desk. 911 will be called per Village protocol

Requirements:

Current certification of CPR and First Aid

Good communication skills providing ability to read, write, and speak well in order to be clearly understood by staff, residents. Ability to understand direction given

A minimum of 6 months experience working with the elderly or equivalent

Physical ability to stand, walk, climb several flights of stairs, and ability to assist residents with body transfers using good body mechanics and wearing back brace

Follow the guidelines in caregiver policy and procedures handbook when using back supports and gait belts

Completion of SFY/TV initial training and on-going training
