Day Program Manager/Program Specialist

Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Program Coordinator

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities or

· Associate's degree or sixty (60) credits and four years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities

· At least 21 years of age;

· Valid Pennsylvania Drivers License with acceptable driving record as determined by Motor Vehicle Report and insurance guidelines.

Essential Functions

The Program Manager/ Program Specialist is responsible for the day to day, hands on operation of the program and the sound clinical and ethical habilitations of the individuals in their care.

· Oversees daily operation of program through direct service activity corresponding with Individual Service Plans and staff supervision.

· Responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the ISP process. Communicates with program coordinator on a regular basis to ensure the implementation of ISP goals.

· Supervises and directs program staff.

· Practices safe and sound crisis prevention and intervention strategies by promoting and teaching the use of preventative strategies.

· Coordinate attendance sheets including arrival and departure times of every individual including late arrivals or early departures due to doctor appointments, family visits, etc.

· Coordinate and communicate changes in programming or schedules for staff and residents.

· Accurately manage petty cash using proper accounting procedures and requesting additional funds when necessary.

· Completes all necessary documentation prior to end of shift including all staff, resident and unusual incident reports.

· Complete building checklists daily and maintenance request forms as needed.

· Communicates regularly with Program Coordinator to ensure continuity of care. Also communicates regularly with parents, county Supports Coordinators, Program Coordinators, Program Directors, and other departments within KCR.

· Conducts fire drills monthly and as needed and completes fire drill record.

· Writes, where appropriate, reviews, and ensures Progress Notes along with cumulative/progress notes are completed with required information.

· Review, track, and maintain all information required in each individual's file. Complete monthly sign offs, quarterly reviews, assessments, and any other necessary paperwork.

· Implements all policy and procedures of Keystone; holds staff accountable for their actions.

· Promotes community awareness by demonstrating responsible, courteous behavior, and a positive perception of individuals with developmental disabilities.

· Understands internal and external policies, state regulations and follows employee rules of conduct and performance as set forth by Keystone.

· Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of facility.

· Annually meets regulatory and agency in-service training requirements.

· Other duties may be delegated to the Program Manager / Program Specialist as deemed necessary under the guidance of the Program Coordinator/Director. Day Program Manager / Specialist 1729 Pittston 09/2013 Work Environment

· Day Program Site consisting of program areas and offices.

· May experience exposure to body fluids and the need to provide personal, private care to individuals. Universal precautions must be taken.

· Work as scheduled during inclement weather conditions.

· Driving is required. Physical Abilities · Must be able to lift and transfer 50 pounds using proper body mechanics 6-12 times hourly

· Must be able to carry 50 pounds for at least 20 feet

· Must be able to climb and descend 20 stairs carrying 20 pounds

· Must be able to bend to retrieve an object at floor level 6-12 times hourly

· Must be able to readily change direction while walking

· Must be able to run a distance of 100 ft. 1-2 times hourly

· Must be able to walk a distance of one mile

· Must be able to crouch at the knees 6-12 times hourly

· Must be able to kneel on both knees

· Must be able to drive for a period of one hour 3-6 times daily

· Must be able to stand for a period of one hour 6-12 times daily

· Must be able to sit for a period of one hour 6-12 times daily

· Must be able to push/pull 10 pounds

· Must be able to grasp an object with at least one hand

· Must have at least 20/40 combined vision with or without corrective lenses

· Must be able to hear a normal spoken voice with or without hearing assistance Confidentiality

· The Program Manager/ Program Specialist has access to the protected health information of people in the agency's care. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations apply to confidential information in all areas of Keystone Community Resources, Inc. and Keystone Independent Living.

· General Professional confidentiality is expected at all times both within the company and with other agencies.
