The Thurston County Central Services Department, located in Olympia, Washington, is seeking an experienced Capital Project Manager II to manage the design and construction of projects identified in the Central Services Capital Facility Plan. This position is primarily responsible for capital construction projects involving the design, repair, maintenance, renovation, replacement, and construction of facilities and associated infrastructure owned by Thurston County.

The successful candidate must display a professional demeanor, be adaptable, work well with others, and consistently display a high level of tact, discretion, and sound judgment. This position has a high degree of independence and will work under the general direction of the Assistant County Manager.
Who we areCentral Services provides diverse internal services to county offices and departments, including facilities operations and maintenance, vehicle and equipment fleet management, records management, surplus, and mail services. The department has 49 employees, supporting a county workforce of more than 1,000 employees.
Working ConditionsThis position is assigned a workspace at 3000 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia, Washington, and may also be assigned to other work locations in the County. This position requires both office and field work and involves working both inside and outside during all weather conditions. This employee will be exposed to conditions and physical hazards associated with general construction. The ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access confined spaces and hard-to-reach areas is required. This employee may be required to work extended and/or non-standard work hours based on construction schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays. This position involves frequent travel to meetings, which requires driving.
