Purpose: According to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and under the general supervision of the VP Senior Living assumes responsibility for the strategic development and growth related to overall management and performance of the Licensed Assisted Living Community, responsible for developing a culture that embraces the organization's mission and core values, driving effective and efficient use of all resources to carry out the organization's goals and mission; directing, evaluating and ensuring high quality and delivery of all services provided; ensuring overall performance and budget standards are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the management and financial operations of all services provided by their designated community and its' employees.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned departments within constraints of prescribed budgetary guidelines to include accurate and timely payroll submission, HR, A/P, A/R, and billing procedures. Directs and manages sales/marketing activity for the community to ensure occupancy is maintained.
  • Responsible developing, implementing, and continually updating key management procedures, including but not limited to, community operations/sales plans and budgeting procedures.
  • Implements and manages annual operating budgets, maintains budgeted occupancy, revenues, operating expenses; attends financial and operations meetings.
  • Reviews all facility level contracts for consistency with organizational standards and recommends approval or modification to the VP.
  • Responsible for maintaining satisfactory licensure and certification standards applicable throughout community.
  • Responsible for ensuring substantial compliance with COBRA/HIPAA and all applicable regulations, accreditation, licensure, or insurance requirements that facilities are bound to.
  • Leads efforts to ensure there is an atmosphere conducive to quality living and the residents' lives will be meaningful, happy, healthful and secure throughout the community.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans, follow up on changes and other communication, problem-solve, receive staff support and in-service education.
  • Oversees and ensures programs/services for the community are developed and maintained based on the resident needs and the community's ability to provide.
  • Participates in internal and external community groups and activities that promote the campus and services.
  • Actively engages in internal community resident/family/employee events. Leads as the champion of employee satisfaction and engagement for the community.
  • Responsible for ensuring accountability of the department leaders and ensuring a working environment that consistency encourages staff development including the supervision, training, evaluation, and education/corrective action of all managers/staff in accordance with the initiatives and core values of the organization.
  • Reviews community performance appraisals for consistency with corporate wage and salary guidelines and Board approved operating budget.
  • Ensures departmental scheduling (at the facility level) is fair, consistent, and budget compliant.

  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.
  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences' Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
  • Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.

Experience: Two to five years' of experience in administrative and supervisory capacity with demonstrated, progressive leadership and management abilities required.

Mental: Must have excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self understood.

Skills: Must have strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web.

Travel: Sometimes 25-49%

Licensure: N/A If licensed, must be in good standing.

Vision: Normal: Consistent with standard workflow.

With respect to said job description, estimate the daily time spent performing the following activities.

Supervision Received: General supervision: Employee generally operates by himself/herself checking with supervisor when in doubt.

Working Conditions: Exposure to some disagreeable conditions such as noise, heat, odors, illness, infection and physical contact with disruptive residents.
