Schenectady Jewish Community CenterCamp Unit HeadSchenectady ,New YorkApply NowThis individual, supervised by the Camp Director, manages the operations of an age Unit of Camp Chaverim; and oversees the health, safety, and well-being of the campers and counselors of the unit.Pre-Camp ResponsibilitiesAssist in interviewing and hiring of staffAssist in the planning of special eventsAssist in curriculum development as it pertains to TAG timeAttend and lead parts of Camp Orientations before camp startsCamp ResponsibilitiesSupervision of the counselors and the camp groups within the unitPlans, implements, and coordinates unit programming and activitiesResponsible for TAG programming within your unitOrganizing and structuring camp Chugim, if applicableRequired to attend Unit specific events (late nights, overnights, field trips, etc.)Responsible for counselors daily schedules.Responsible for camper managementRespond to parent questions and concernsResponsible for coordinating submission and issuing of camp group newsletters in a timely mannerConducts unit staff meetingsServes as a member of the camp supervisory management team; and attends supervisory and full camp staff meetingLeads or assists in camp special eventsMay be responsible for the leading of the camp extended morning or afternoon programsPerform all other duties as assigned or delegated by the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director or JCC Campus Directors.QualificationsQualifications18 years old or older before the start of campExperience working with childrenAbility to supervise staff campersAbility to meet the public and deal with parentsComfortable speaking in front of large groups of peopleAbility to plan initiate, organize, and carry out daily and special programsMinimum of 2 years of camp experienceA positive, upbeat spirit can do attitude and a great sense of fun!Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to bend at the waist, squat and pick items off the floorAbility to walk, hike, and climb long distancesMust have great eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate outdoor equipment and participate in camp activiteis#J-18808-Ljbffr
