Job Description :

A successful candidate in this role will have experience being successful answering calls for program/product discussions. This role handles reservations, general zoo inquiries, pre-sale inquiries, and post-sale technical/functional support. In addition, outbound calls are made to guests for billing and collection purposes as well as direct selling. This is a highly sales driven role where the representative is expected to promote zoo initiatives through sharing their knowledge about how it supports both patron and Zoo mission/vision. Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings as scheduled. Our Mission: Houston Zoo connects communities with animals, inspiring action to save wildlife.   • Encourage and model the core values of the Houston Zoo through exceptional internal and external guest service.
  • Answer general questions about the Houston Zoo and answer specific questions concerning products available for purchase.
  • Support the execution, and process of multiple programs registrations ( field trips, donation, birthday parties, etc) as well as rescheduling process for Admission tickets and events.
  • Maintain Houston Zoo and product knowledge by attending daily start-up meetings and reading department communication briefs.
  • Identify, research, and resolve guest issues using all available resources.
  • Promote classes and programs while scheduling.
  • Recognize, document, and alert the supervisor of trends in customer calls.
  • Generates and disseminates on and off-site program and activity registration confirmation packets.
  • Might be required to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
  • Contributes to saving animals in the wild through reduction of waste, water and energy use
  • Performs and assist other duties or special projects as needed.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service, writing, oral communication skills, and database and program skills.
  • Initiative and follow-through as well as the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • One (1) year clerical, administrative, guest service or call center experience
