DescriptionOdawa Casino Resort Job Description Job Title:Cage Supervisor Reports To: Cage Manager Department:Cage Minimum Pay Rate:$23.00 per hour Job Code:CAGESP Pay Grade:FIN6 Date Written:9/27/2004 Last Update:01/01/2024 Job Summary: Assists the Cage Manager with insuring Cage Operations are efficiently and accurately ran and assignments are completed timely. Provides input on operational processes and all aspects pertaining to employee management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Makes recommendations to hire, terminate, demote, transfer, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, and provide for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels within the Cage, based on business needs, by reducing staff or calling staff
  • Update and complete schedules and timesheets as needed.
  • Delegates staff assignments and provides for the fair and equitable treatment of Team Members while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Supervises, trains, schedules and counsels Cage Team Members with regard to daily operations
  • Assists in ensuring Team Members are properly trained in Title 31 and other necessary compliance areas
  • Oversees Cage Cashier and Cage Mainbank duties, assisting them as needed with completing tasks
  • Assist the Cage Manager with monitoring Cage variances and associated counseling/discipline.
  • Monitor and maintain cash levels in Cage and Vault.
  • Assist with Enterprise wide Title 31 training classes, and train Cage new hires.
  • Ensure Team Members have an understanding and comply with Cage polices, Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (TMICS), regulations, and other departmental policies as applicable.
  • Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy.
  • Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions to issues that may arise.
  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Foster a culture of learning and development; support individual growth through continuous feedback to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Work assigned shifts as required.
  • Visit staff on all shifts to ensure enhanced communications among all Team Members and Management.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • May work at other properties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the job position.

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three to four (3-4) years of cash handling experience in a gaming environment covering all areas of cage operations.
    • Must have one (1) year proven supervisory experience.
    • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
    • Must have basic math skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must have excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, and ability to quickly learn specialized software packages.
    • Must be flexible with shifts and days off.
    • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
    • Requires exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
    • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
