Job Description :

As CAD Manager you are a key contributor to YMC, supporting our project teams by creating complete and accurate drawing packages for complex processing systems, managing multiple employees within the CAD department, and ensuring workflow and proper techniques are being utilized within the group.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 3D models, component part models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and machine detail drawings using SolidWorks for bio/pharma processing systems
  • Work with engineering to create and revise 2D piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
  • Interface with component suppliers and internal project teams to obtain details of equipment and material requirements based on project specifications and system component lists
  • Prepare electronic layout drawings, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements (BOM) from project specifications based on ANSI drafting standards
  • Review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants, vendors, and project team members
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the fabrication team in the interpretation and implementation of provided fabrication drawings
  • Generate as-built drawings to represent system changes made during the fabrication phase
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all company policies and OSHA guidelines
  • Work with Project Managers to reasonably and accurately estimate CAD hours and resources to complete projects
  • Provide guidance and support to the CAD staff regarding design tools (hardware/software) and the interpretation and implementation of project specifications and requirements
  • Help development and maintain CAD department procedures
  • Maintain CAD licenses, software installations, and CAD library
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Required Experience and Knowledge
  • Five years of experience in preparation of complex systems using SolidWorks or Equivalent
  • Two years of managerial experience
  • Ability to design and modify electronic 2D schematics, 3D models, and assemblies
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with customer specifications and schematics
  • Mechanical design knowledge required
Preferred Skill and Experience
  • ASME BPE design knowledge is a plus
