Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer with a strong background in procuring steel and aluminum fasteners. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in sourcing methodologies, cost analysis, and vendor performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase steel and aluminum fasteners, including bolts, nuts, screws, washers, and specialty hardware.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic and international suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and capacity.
- Conduct market research and cost analysis to support procurement decisions.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure favorable supplier agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure high levels of service and compliance with contracts.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to qualify parts and vendors.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through value analysis and process improvements.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
- Issue and manage RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs for new and existing product lines.
- Maintain supplier performance scorecards and participate in audits and corrective action follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry standards (ISO, ASTM, SAE).
- Assist in inventory planning by optimizing lead times and supporting demand forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of procurement experience, preferably in industrial components with a focus on metal fasteners.
