Buyer - Crown Bioscience : Job Details

What You'll Do:

• Review and approve PR workflow requests from internal departments for indirect goods and services, capital equipment, and contracts.
• Review SAP MRP purchase requisitions and create purchase orders for inventoried items, including samples, supplies, and trading goods.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor vendor on-time delivery; resolve pricing or shipping discrepancies as needed.
• Negotiate purchases of capital equipment and other large goods or service transactions.
• Lead discussions with internal teams to gather requirements; research vendor options and manage RFQ processes.
• Identify cost-effective vendors and purchasing methods; negotiate competitive pricing and delivery schedules.
• Manage vendor performance, including issue resolution and corrective actions.
• Review and negotiate operational supply and service contracts.
• Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives, projects, and ad hoc requests.
• Document and maintain purchasing procedures in the company's document control system.
• Monitor the department risk register; implement updates to address risks or changes.
• Screen and qualify new vendor requests, ensuring compliance with risk management processes.
• Prepare reports on vendor performance and purchasing metrics; create presentations for management as needed.
• Oversee the company fleet vehicle program.
• Support management to ensure the purchase requisition system aligns with operational needs, purchasing best practices, and corporate governance requirements.
• Monitor purchasing systems for effectiveness; drive corrective actions and continuous improvements.
• Perform other department duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 4+ years of purchasing or relevant business operations experience, including indirect goods/services, purchase orders, commercial terms, and vendor management.
• 2+ years of project experience; project leadership experience is a plus.
• Intermediate experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9000 or similar QMS
• Experience with SOX compliance or similar internal controls a plus.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT)

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 (Based on skills, experience, and location)
