Job Summary: Responsible for sourcing both direct and indirect materials based on ERP system data and engineering BOM updates. Ensure materials are procured on time to meet production requirements while maintaining cost-effectiveness and adequate stock levels through collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Job Duties:
- Issue purchase orders for raw materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations
- Monitor and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and prevent shortages
- Keep production teams informed of material availability through schedule updates and regular communication
- Resolve urgent supply issues promptly to avoid disruption in production
- Negotiate supplier agreements for goods and services, ensuring accurate pricing is reflected in the ERP system
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to manage inbound shipments and adjust for lead-time changes
- Recommend and monitor safety stock levels to prevent inventory gaps
- Manage assigned commodities and ensure inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts
- Handle non-conforming materials by initiating NCRs, coordinating returns/replacements, and processing credit transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years of purchasing experience, including supplier negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings through effective negotiation
- Working knowledge of industrial supplies and manufacturing equipment
- Proficient in Excel; experience with ERP systems (LN preferred) and Power BI is a plus
