Primary Objective of Position: The Part Sales Buyer is responsible for maintaining valid inventory levels from suppliers and production verticals to satisfy all customer requirements, while optimizing the usage of company material and resources. Key Areas of Responsibility
- Reviews MRP requirements against Reports, open purchase orders, and Planned Transfer Orders to derive future orders. Executes purchase orders and drives vendors and production verticals to meet Part Sales order requirements, minimizing stock-outs and delays. Resolves invoice payment failures to ensure prompt payment of vendors.
- Monitor production and vendor due dates, identifying and resolving late or lost items while communicating with stakeholders within the sales, marketing, service, and engineering groups.
- Maintains item attributes for non-current parts, such as lead times, lot sizes, and current cost. Liaises with engineering/production to ensure items can be built.
- Create and lead inventory strategies for all required Service goods (raw, semi-finished and expense). Acts as owner for all associated physical inventory and future inventory plans and provides input to management regarding long term issues that could impact corporate decisions.
- Manages inventory to control excess and obsolete materials.
- Proactively manage day-to-day production orders, sequencing, material flow, and exceptions, working with the Material Handling team to ensure physical and digital inventories are aligned.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Analyze production data and forecasts to anticipate potential issues and proactively make industry-standard changes to enable on-time delivery.
- Implement and maintain Buyer and Production Planner best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Support other staff in the use of Dynamics 365 and as liaison with suppliers.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Education & Experience Desired
- Experience with operations, scheduling and purchasing procedures, MRP systems and their processes (preferable D365), and supply chain best practices.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with different departments: Writing and speaking English well.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, to identify and resolve issues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Physical demands & Work Environment Work is normally performed in a casual office environment. The Part Sales office is located on a mezzanine in the Main Warehouse; the candidate should be able to perform the job tasks with reasonable accommodation.
