Job Description :

The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is a next-generation sawmill operator focused on sustainable manufacturing of dimensional wood products. TLM is in the process of designing a state-of-the-art sawmill optimal for producing high-grade dimensional products, with a focus on simplicity and fast construction.

Overview:

We're seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Business Operations Manager to optimize our internal processes and drive operational excellence. This role is pivotal in streamlining workflows, enhancing productivity, and supporting cross-functional initiatives that align with our business goals. This role will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact projects across the organization.

This role reports directly to the VP of Business Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder communications
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and recommend process improvements
  • Support adoption of project management tools and best practices
  • Analyze and improve business processes to boost efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement operational strategies
  • Monitor performance metrics and generate actionable insights
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Coordinate with departments to implement technology solutions and process improvements
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party contracts
  • Prepare operational reports and present findings to stakeholder

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, process improvement or project management
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, MS Project, Jira)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in business software (e.g., ERP, CRM, Excel, Tableau)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with budgeting and risk management is a plus

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or construction sectors.

Start of salary range: $105,000

Work Location: Seattle, WA, in-person. This role is required to travel to Mississippi mill sites as needed.
