Summary of Position Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) prepares students to launch or advance a career in business or accounting. In today's technologically driven and complex world, this involves more than just a calculator. It includes the knowledge, skills, and agility to succeed in fast-paced and dynamic business environments. RRCC is searching for Business Instructors for our newest Bachelor's degree program. Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends. The instructor must be patient and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program. This position reports to the department chair within the discipline and does not supervise other employees. Occasional meetings or trainings may also be scheduled outside of regular work hours. The finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online classes. The compensation for this position is $1177.73 to $1294.58/ per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.   • Ability to work from campus (primarily at our Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to teach students online and face-to-face.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in Business / Management / Marketing / Small Business Management (specific content-area of course instruction), AND have, or qualify for, postsecondary CTE credential including 2000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years.
**Current teachers applying to teach RRCC campus-based, online, or concurrent enrollment CTE courses may include non-teaching occupational hours that are older than the 7-year requirement if they have the required degree (and license/certifications as listed) and a minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience in the discipline/program or 6 years part-time teaching experience in the discipline/program.
  • Tested experience may be used in lieu of the degree requirement on a case-by-case basis.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
