Business Development Manager - Branded Sales | U.S. Energy
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing branded, unbranded gasoline, and diesel opportunities in the respective market. They will also grow and maintain our customer base within the region.
Territory includes: Southern Chicago & Northwest Indiana: Hammond, Munster, Merrillville, Crown Point, Valparaiso, South Bend
Job Responsibilities
Identify and pursue opportunities in branded, unbranded gasoline, and diesel markets; develop relationships with delivered business customers.Conduct feasibility studies and integrate findings into marketing strategies for new business acquisition.Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients.Maintain high levels of customer service and rapport for future growth.Monitor industry trends and program changes.Respond quickly and knowledgeably under pressure.Collaborate with sales managers to develop deals aligned with ROI goals.Analyze competition within the territory to identify potential and lost business.Lead sales processes to owners, councils, and boards.Cold call potential clients, present proposals, negotiate, and secure long-term contracts.Manage re-signing processes for current clients approaching contract expiry.Apply consultative sales techniques to provide solutions to business challenges.Analyze data to track purchasing volumes against goals.Develop and execute sales strategies to meet profitability and market penetration goals.Update clients on pricing and promotional offerings.Assess and respond to competition.Visit customer locations to sell products/services and resolve issues.Identify customer needs for new products/services and introduce them to existing accounts.Generate new business through inbound/outbound calls.Coordinate with sales team on leads, orders, and quotations.Maintain comprehensive customer records and update CRM regularly.Uphold company values: High Performance, Caring Relationships, Strategic Foresight, Entrepreneurial Spirit.Champion continuous improvement and quality initiatives.Engage in ongoing professional development.Support safety, compliance, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned.Assist with contract negotiations and market campaigns.Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in relevant products.Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.Proven ability to acquire new business via cold calling.Self-motivated, action-oriented, and decision-capable.Professional representation skills.Excellent communication and listening skills.Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.At least two years of industry sales or customer service experience.Ability to build positive relationships.Valid driver's license with a good record.Ability to travel locally daily and overnight up to 20%.Territory includes: Southern Chicago & Northwest IndianaAdditional Information
