Description

As a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development/Capture Specialist with 3-5 years of experience at Ares, you will assist in identifying new business opportunities, supporting capture strategies, and contributing to proposal development efforts. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research to identify potential government contracting opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities aligned to company growth targets.
  • Create winning proposal strategies and themes in collaboration with proposal teams.
  • Lead the full capture lifecycle for strategic pursuits, from opportunity identification through proposal submission and post-submission activities.
  • Support the proposal development process, including writing, editing, and coordinating submissions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government personnel and industry partners.
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote the company and gather intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to meet growth targets and objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government contracting vehicles and procurement trends (e.g., GSA, IDIQs, GWACs).
  • Facilitate color reviews, black hat sessions, solutioning workshops, and gate reviews to improve win probability.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, price-to-win assessments, and risk analysis for pursuits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Shipley or similar capture/proposal management training or certification.
  • Familiarity with agency contacts and procurement forecasts.
  • Strong interest in federal government contracting and business development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with CRM tools like Monday.com, GovWin, or similar platforms.
