A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required.

Position Summary

As a Business Consultant, you will help clients reach their goals through educational and consulting services. This position is located in Macon, Georgia, with multi-county travel required. Salary is $80,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Progress towards an advanced degree is expected during the provisional period. Preferred Education and Experience

A master's degree in business or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants should have knowledge of business functions such as financial analysis, marketing, and accounting. Knowledge of economic development, banking, or accounting background, and networking skills are a plus. Familiarity with University and SBDC programs is also preferred.

Additional Details

This position is not a Position of Trust, does not manage financial resources, and does not require a P-Card. Driving is a responsibility. No direct care of children or patient care is involved. No security access is required. A credit check and background investigation are required as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality instruction to entrepreneurs and business owners, analyzing situations and offering recommendations on business plans, market feasibility, and operations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, generate curricula, and market these programs within the community.
  • Develop areas of expertise and apply this knowledge through training, research, and consulting.
  • Guide clients to appropriate resources and disseminate information via media.
  • Act as a business development advocate and collaborate with private and public entities to support economic growth.
  • Engage in public relations, including speeches and committee participation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organizational improvement efforts.
  • Participate in sponsorship and grant activities.
  • Document activities and maintain client files per guidelines.
  • Ensure program quality, responsiveness, and positive relations with other institutions, representing the Area Director when needed.
