SUMMARY:

BridgeValley Community & Technical College seeks Business Advisors for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. The positions begin in September 2025. The program is housed within the Division of General Education & Professional Programs, with Business Advisors reporting to the program's Executive Director and working closely with the Program Manager.

Program & CurriculumThe 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) initiative is part of a national investment aimed at unlocking the growth and job creation potential of small businesses. It is based on the view that a combination of education, business support services, and access to capital best addresses barriers to growth for small businesses.

The program has three main components: business education, business support services (technical assistance and customized, one-on-one business advising), and access to capital. The ultimate goal is for participating business owners to increase revenues and create jobs in their communities.

Examples of DutiesBusiness advisors play a crucial role in the program's success. They support groups of 5-7 business owners as they complete key deliverables: a written growth plan and a growth pitch. Typically, a Business Advisor oversees 2-3 groups. This is a contract position requiring up to 26 hours per week for 12-13 weeks. Compensation ranges from $50 to $55 per hour, paid in arrears over the course of the contract.
